Method One
Measure an existing ring
The most accurate at-home method. Choose a ring that already fits the intended finger well.
1. Place the ring on a ruler
Lay the ring flat, aligned to zero on a millimetre ruler.
2. Measure the inside diameter
Measure straight across the inside of the band, edge to edge.
3. Match it to the chart
Use the chart below to convert your diameter to US, UK, EU or Indian sizes.

Measure your finger

Wrap a strip of paper snugly around the base of your finger.

Mark the exact point where the paper overlaps.

Jeweller's Tips
Little details that matter.
Room temperature
Measure your finger at normal room temperature — not after a cold shower or a hot day outdoors.
Never after exercise
Fingers swell after workouts, flights or salty meals. Wait an hour before measuring.
Measure two or three times
Take three readings across the day and use the largest — a ring that fits at your widest is comfortable all day.
Wider bands, half size up
Bands 4 mm and wider sit tighter than slim rings. Add a half size to keep them comfortable.
